What taxes and costs apply when buying in Alicante Province?

For a resale property, the main tax is Property Transfer Tax (ITP) at 9% of the purchase price, with total costs of approximately 11–12% on top of the advertised price. For a new build, you pay 10% VAT plus 1.5% AJD (Actos Jurídicos Documentados), with total costs of approximately 13–14%.
