Costa Blanca South refers to the southern part of the Costa Blanca coastline, stretching from around Alicante down to Pilar de la Horadada on the border with the Costa Cálida and Murcia. It sits entirely within Alicante Province, in southeastern Spain, and includes well-known areas such as Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa, Guardamar del Segura, and Ciudad Quesada.

There isn’t a single “best” area — it depends entirely on what you’re looking for. Golf enthusiasts often gravitate towards the La Finca, Vistabella or Las Colinas golf resorts, those wanting a big international community and lively atmosphere tend to choose Torrevieja or Orihuela Costa, and buyers after a quieter, more authentically Spanish setting often prefer Guardamar del Segura. The Costa Blanca stretches over 200 kilometres along the coast of Alicante Province, and it’s generally split into a northern half (around Dénia, Jávea, Moraira, and Altea) and a southern half (Torrevieja down to Pilar de la Horadada). The north is hillier and more rugged, with a more exclusive, established feel and higher property prices. The south is flatter, with longer sandy beaches, a stronger supply of new build property, generally better value for money, and easier access to Alicante-Elche Airport. We focus on the south because it’s the area we know inside out — and where we believe buyers get the best combination of lifestyle and value.
