SolMar Properties: A Family-Run Estate Agency on the Costa Blanca
Every agency says they treat buyers like family. At SolMar Properties, that is simply how it works. I’m Adri, founder of SolMar Properties — a family-run estate agency on the Costa Blanca South helping buyers from Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia, France, Spain and beyond find the right home, honestly, personally, and at your pace.
This page is the story of who we are, how we work, and why we chose this beautiful corner of Alicante Province — so that by the time we first speak, you will already feel you know us a little.

From Madrid to the Costa Blanca South: Our Story
My route here was not the usual one. I am originally from Madrid, where I worked as an estate agent, and I then spent years living in the UK — so I understand both sides of the journey our buyers make: the Spanish way of doing things, and what it feels like to navigate them from abroad, in a second language, with all the questions and nerves that come with it.
In 2022 I moved to the Costa Blanca and founded SolMar Properties, settling in Ciudad Quesada — where I still live today. That matters more than it might sound: when we recommend an area, a restaurant or a street, it is because we live here, not because we read about it.
A Small, Dedicated Team — By Choice
SolMar Properties is a small, dedicated family team — deliberately kept that way. It means the person who takes your first call is the same person standing next to you at the notary months later. It means we are available any day of the week, not just office hours. And it means we can offer something the big agencies and portals simply cannot: a personalised service where every buyer is an individual, never a number.
English-Speaking Estate Agents Costa Blanca Buyers Can Rely On
Language should never be the thing standing between you and your home in Spain. I speak fluent English and Spanish — and a little French — so nothing gets lost in translation, whether we are chatting through your wish list or reviewing paperwork alongside your solicitor. For German-speaking buyers and other languages, we collaborate with trusted fellow agents, so you will always have someone who understands you completely.
How Do I Choose an Estate Agent in Spain?
Look for three things: real local knowledge (does the agent actually live where they sell?), independence (can they show you the whole market, or only their own listings?), and support that covers the entire process, not just the viewing. Ask how they earn their commission, and whether they will still pick up the phone after you have your keys. Any good agent will welcome those questions — we certainly do.
Independent Estate Agents on the Costa Blanca South
As independent estate agents on the Costa Blanca South, we collaborate with all the major developers and with other agencies across the region. The property we recommend is the one that suits you — never the one that pays the most commission. That is not a slogan; it is the entire reason I started the agency.
Our service runs from your very first enquiry to key handover — and beyond. We carry out the snagging inspection on every new build ourselves, reporting anything that is not right to the developer to fix before you move in. After completion we stay on hand for post-sale questions, and can help with rentals, Airbnb co-hosting and property management too. Start with our brand new homes, our established resales, or our step-by-step Buying Guide.
Do Estate Agents Charge Buyers Fees in Spain?
At SolMar Properties, buyers pay us nothing — our commission comes from the seller or developer, never from you. Our viewings, advice and accompaniment through the whole purchase are completely free of charge for buyers. We believe that should always be made clear upfront, so you can relax and ask us anything.
Why We Love It Here — and Why You Might Too
People often ask me why I stayed, and the answer comes easily. Life is simply easier here: the weather is beautiful, you can be outdoors all year round, and the beach or a long lunch at a local restaurant is never more than a few minutes away. The cost of living is noticeably lower than in the UK, Ireland and most of northern Europe — and lower than in Madrid, for that matter. From my home in Ciudad Quesada, the whole Costa Blanca South is on the doorstep.
That is the life we help our buyers step into — and there is honestly nothing better than handing over a set of keys and watching it begin.
FAQ
Legally, no — but a good agent costs buyers nothing here and saves you a great deal. We give you access to the whole market including every major developer, honest advice on areas and prices, help with negotiation, and accompaniment through the legal process alongside your solicitor. For international buyers especially, that guidance is the difference between a stressful purchase and an enjoyable one.
No — buyers never pay SolMar Properties anything. Our commission comes from the seller or the developer. Viewings, advice and support through to completion are entirely free of charge for you.
I speak fluent English and Spanish, plus some French. For German and other languages, we work alongside trusted collaborating agents, so you can always deal with someone in a language you are comfortable in.
We cover the whole Costa Blanca South — including Guardamar del Segura and El Raso, Torrevieja, Ciudad Quesada and La Marina, Orihuela Costa, the golf resorts of La Finca, Vistabella and Las Colinas, and inland towns such as Dolores and Los Montesinos. If you have somewhere else in the south of Alicante Province in mind, just ask; chances are we know it well.
No — and this is something we are proud of. We stay in touch after completion, help resolve any post-sale issues, and can assist with rentals, Airbnb co-hosting and property management. As a family-run estate agency on the Costa Blanca, our reputation is built on what clients say about us long after moving day.
A family team, honest advice, the whole market, and support that does not stop at the door — that is SolMar Properties. Wherever you are on your journey to a home in Spain, we would be delighted to hear from you.
